13 Days Rwanda-Uganda Double Gorilla and Double Chimp Tracking Safari

Day 1
Transfer from the Airport.
Our representative will pick you from Kigali International Airport to the Hotel for the night and dinner at Garr Hotel (Budget) / Urban Boutique Hotel (Deluxe) /Kigali Serena Hotel (Luxury).
Day 2
Kigali city tour and transfer to Akagera National park.
After your breakfast, you will go for city tour around Kigali. Visit the genocide museum, Belgium museum, local markets among others. You will then drive to the eastern part of Rwanda near Tanzania border to Akagera National park. After lunch, you will go an evening game drive expecting to see various wildlife species like the zebras, antelopes among others. Overnight stay and dinner at Akagera Game Lodge.
Day 3
Game drive and Canoe ride.
Take a cup of coffee and leave for a morning game drive in the park hoping to see the elephants, giraffes, spotted hyena and many others. Return to the lodge for breakfast and relax waiting for lunch. Go for a canoe ride on Lake Ihema to see the hippos, crocodiles and a big concentration of water birds. Overnight stay and dinner at Akagera Game Lodge.
Day 4
Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park.
After breakfast, you will drive to Nyungwe Forest National park. You will visit the Murambi Memorial and Butare museum plus lunch enroute. Dinner and overnight stay at Gisakura Guest house / Nyungwe safari lodge.
Day 5
Chimp Tracking.
Head to the park headquarters after your early breakfast with your packed lunch to be briefed before entering the forest to track the chimpanzees. You will also encounter various primates such as the red colobus monkeys, owl faced monkeys among others and different bird species. Dinner and overnight stay at Gisakura Guest house / Nyungwe safari lodge.
Day 6
Transfer to Volcanoes National park.
Have breakfast and head to Volcanoes National park. Lunch en route in Kigali. Proceed through the striking terraced hillside view. Dinner and overnight stay at Kinigi Guest House (Budget) / La Palue Hotel (Deluxe) / Gorillas view Hotel (Luxury).
Day 7
Gorilla Trekking and Nature walk.
You will have morning breakfast and head to the forest for golden monkey tracking. You will also encounter some other primates such as the black and white monkeys, red-tailed monkeys among others. Return and in the afternoon drive to Lake Kivu. Dinner and overnight stay Lake Kivu Serena (Luxury)/ Stipp Hotel (Deluxe)/ Paradise Malahide (Budget).
Day 8
Golden monkey trekking and Transfer to Lake Kivu.
After your breakfast, you will trek the endangered golden monkey species and thereafter visit the local community to explore their cultures (“Banyarwanda”). Dinner and overnight stay at Kinigi Guest House (Budget) / La Palue Hotel (Deluxe) / Gorillas view Hotel (Luxury).
Day 9
Boat cruise Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
After your breakfast, you will enjoy a breath-taking boat cruise to the coffee Island. Witness the sights and sounds of the hot springs; you will then be driven to Bwindi-Uganda. Dinner and overnight stay at Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Safari Lodge (Luxury), Gorilla Mist Lodge (Deluxe) or Wagtail Eco-Lodge (Budget).
Day 10
Boat cruise Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
Have breakfast and head to the park headquarters with packed lunch for briefing about the dos and don’ts while with gorillas and penetrate through the Impenetrable forest to search for the gentle giants. Later in the evening, you may visit the Batwa (Pygmies) community to see their local healers, brewers and performances. Dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla Safari Lodge (Luxury), Gorilla Mist Lodge (Deluxe) or Wagtail Eco-Lodge (Budget).
Day 11
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
After your breakfast, drive northward to Queen Elizabeth National Park through Ishasha to see the tree climbing lions. Lunch en route at Ishasha wilderness camp. Overnight stay and dinner at Mweya Safari Lodge (high-end), Enganzi Safari Lodge (deluxe), King Fisher Lodge (budget).
Day 12
Chimpanzee tracking and Nature walk.
Take breakfast and head to the park headquarters to be briefed about the “dos and don’ts” while with the chimps. This may take about 2-8 hours depending on the movement of the chimps. Take photographs, observations and watch them feeding for a maximum of one hour. You may then go for nature walk in the Bigodi wetland Sanctuary to see the different bird species there and the local art and craft makers. Dinner and overnight stay at your previous Lodge.
Day 13
Transfer to the airport.
After your early morning breakfast, you will transfer back to Kigali for your scheduled flight back home or Entebbe International airport in Uganda depending on your flight arrangements.
